The George and Amanda Hanley Foundation seeks to build a better future by supporting education, empowerment and environmental sustainability on a global scale. Founded in 2008 by George and Amanda Hanley, the foundation is active in providing education and business opportunities for young people and supporting organizations that share George and Amanda’s vision for a better future.
Some of the foundation’s recent activities include:
- A $1 million Challenge Grant for the Academy for Global Citizenship in Chicago
- Scholarships for students to practice social entrepreneurship in developing countries through the Social Entrepreneurship Institute at the University of Illinois College of Business
- Funding service learning opportunities for engineering students at the University of Dayton’s ETHOS program (Engineers In Technical Humanitarian Opportunities Of Service Learning)
- Grants to Chicago area community, environmental and youth outreach organizations
